Lumbinī (Nepali and Sanskrit: लुम्बिनी About this sound listen (help·info), “the lovely”) is a Buddhist pilgrimage site in the Rupandehi District of Nepal. It is the place where, according to Buddhist tradition, Queen Mayadevi gave birth to Siddhartha Gautama in 563 BCE. Gautama, who achieved Enlightenment some time around 528 BCE, became the Buddha and founded Buddhism. Lumbini is one of many magnets for pilgrimage that sprang up in places pivotal to the life of the Buddha.

Lumbini has a number of temples, including the Mayadevi Temple and several others which are still under repairing. Many monuments, monasteries and a museum, the Lumbini International Research Institute, are also within the holy site. Also there is the Puskarini, or Holy Pond, where the Buddha’s mother took the ritual dip prior to his birth and where he had his first bath. At other sites near Lumbini, earlier Buddhas were, according to tradition, born, then achieved ultimate Enlightenment and finally relinquished their earthly forms.

Day 3
Chitwan is More hotter than Kathmandu. People who lives in Kathmandu feels more hot if they travel to Terai. We plan to visit Chitwan National Park and Leave the house. Mean a while we met with Amrit’s Elder Nephew Gunjan Adhikari who joined with us in National Park Jeep Safari. We bought a ticket for Jeep Safari inside chitwan park. It cost NPR Rs.5500/- for 5 people riding in jeep and observe forest and animals. We hope to see Tiger and Rhino but We didn’t got chance to see that. I think it’s bad time to visit in day time (12 – 4 pm). If you are going it’s better to go early morning or after 4 pm. Be careful to carry essentials stuffs with you. Binocular is extra if you have to see far distance wild animals.

Day 4
We had a planned to leave for Kathmandu early in the morning so we went to pokhara buspark in Chitwan to catch a bus. Unfortunately due to Dashain Festival we didn’t get a bus for hour and we went to another Bharatpur Bustop but no luck. After 3 hours around 9 a.m we took a truck to muglin. That bus was so slow only runs 9km – 12km/hr. It was so boring to travel that slow. We had a lunch in Dasdhunga and finally reached to Muglin to catch bus. Our badluck that we couldn’t found a empty seat bus for hour there so we took a local van to Manakamana Kurintar. We took some time there to get fresh. Finally we catch a bus to Kathmandu. Reached Kathmandu around 7.15 p.m and to our home

Overall the trip was nice. Travelling in october in Chitwan Lumbini Terai Region is hot. Travelling there in summer days is uncomfortable. I want to suggest you to visit in Winter Season at those places.

See you again in Next Trip 🙂
